When you realize you’ve been over-giving, overthinking, and over-explaining… and calling it being “fair/nice.”

April 2nd, 2026, Libra Full Moon:

Knock knock.

Who’s there?

A boundary.

A boundary who?

Exactly.

And of course, she would arrive like this: beautifully dressed, mildly confrontational, and holding up a mirror you did not consent to but probably needed. Peaking on April 2nd at 04:11 AM in the Netherlands, this moon brings the usual Libra magic: relationships, fairness, balance, boundaries… and the deeply humbling realization that keeping the peace is not always the same thing as being true to yourself. Very chic. Very emotionally inconvenient. Very Libra.

I had a lovely café date with a friend recently, and we were catching up on life. I hadn’t seen her in quite a while because ever since the start of my Reiki therapist course, I’ve been living in my own little bubble. I told her about the caseload, the reports, the side job, the volunteer work, the long days and late nights behind the computer, finding and signing the contract for my new therapy space, the teaching days… everything. She looked at me, slightly horrified, and asked, “Are you okay?” To which I replied, “I feel very excited and fine! Just tired.” She kept staring at me for a second before telling me that if I want to keep doing all that I’m doing, I really need to work on my balance.

I don’t really want to admit it, but… she’s right. In the past two months, so much has changed for me, and I got so caught up in the doing that I forgot to do what I literally preach: take care of myself and keep some actual balance in the process.

Because that’s the thing with a Libra Full Moon. She’s like my friend.. She is not causing drama and kicking the door down, but instead she just opens them elegantly, then makes intense eye contact until you admit where you’ve been over-giving, overthinking, overdoing, or shaping yourself into someone easier to digest.

‘Thank god’ our lady Libra is here to restore balance. Real balance. Where you get to breathe and actually feel good. So if life has felt a little wobbly lately, if certain relationships have been showing their cracks, or if your nervous system is one polite smile away from pushing the emergency stop button, this moon might just be the mirror you didn’t ask for but secretly needed.

I sure know I do.
So what did I do? I reorganized my schedule to actually prioritize my health, and I booked a spontaneous little trip to Greece with the boyfi. Yeeeeeyy.

But back to the Libra Moon: trust me, she has a lot more to say about where your energy, your relationships, and your truth have been quietly begging for a little more balance. So let’s take a closer look and face those mirrors, shall we?

Why do we call it a Pink Moon?

This Full Moon is nicknamed the Pink Moon, which sounds very romantic and soft. It makes you picture the moon as a “let’s all wear rose quartz and make questionable decisions, but do it cutesy” kind of situation. But no, the moon itself does not actually turn pink. Slightly disappointing tho, if you ask me.

The name comes from the early spring bloom of a wildflower called moss phlox or creeping phlox, one of the first pink flowers to bloom around this time of year in North America. I kind of love that this particular moon carries such a soft, pretty name, because that’s exactly how Libra tends to work too. She charms. She beautifies. She smooths the edges, wants to keep the peace, and fluffs the pillows. But then, very gracefully, she slips in the one question you were really hoping to avoid.

The Pink Moon carries the energy of renewal, tenderness, and the beginning of a new season. Spring is waking up. Things are blooming. Life is stretching itself open again. You might even notice it around you already: ideas flowing more easily, people suddenly getting inspired, fresh plans being made, new (workout) routines being picked up. But blooming is not always cute and effortless. Sometimes it asks for honesty. Sometimes it asks for change. Sometimes it asks you to stop clinging to what looked balanced on the outside but felt completely off in your body.

And in many cases, it asks you to look at your habits. The ones you know are not helping you, but that have somehow become part of your identity. The ones wrapped up in excuses, comfort zones, and old stories you keep replaying because they are familiar, even when they are damaging. Most people don’t actually realise it, but being addicted to your old stories is absolutely a thing. Even when they limit you. Even when they drain you. Even when a part of you already knows you’ve outgrown them. And sooner than later, it becomes your responsibility to break those mind loops so you can actually meet your own potential. And boy, am I here for that.

So if you’ve been in-between versions of yourself lately, craving more harmony but also realizing something has to shift first, this moon might hit differently. The Pink Moon reminds you that healthy conflicts and truth can exist in the same room. And that, darling, is where the real Libra magic begins.

What you might experience during this Libra Full Moon

If this moon has already been poking at your nervous system with one perfectly manicured finger, don’t be surprised. Libra Full Moons don’t always arrive with huge blow-ups. Sometimes they arrive as a weirdly specific irritation, a conversation you can’t stop replaying, a sudden awareness that something feels off, or the deeply inconvenient realization that your body has been saying “absolutely not” while your mouth keeps going, “sure, no worries.” Or: “Okay… I’ll let her talk down to me one more time just to keep the peace.”

You might find yourself craving peace and beauty, while also becoming painfully aware of where things have not actually been peaceful at all. Where you’ve been over-giving. Overthinking. Overcompromising. Overexplaining. Or bending yourself into a more digestible version just to keep the vibe nice.

This moon can stir up relationship themes, people-pleasing patterns, indecision, and the tension between your own needs and everyone else’s expectations. It may highlight where something looks balanced on the outside, but feels draining, frustrating, or quietly resentful underneath. Cute.

Themes of this full moon

Balance, but for real this time: Not “I’m handling it” balance. Real balance. The kind where your needs, your energy, and your inner peace also get a seat at the table.

Relationship mirrors: This moon shines a light on how you relate: where things flow, where they wobble, and where you may be carrying the emotional weight for two. It may also bring up a very fair question: are your values still in line with the people around you? Are your friendships, relationships, or collaborations still nourishing who you are now?
This moon may also bring clarity around something that began around the Libra New Moon back in October 2025, especially in relationships, self-worth, or the way you’ve been learning to balance your needs with everyone else’s.

Boundaries: Libra may be graceful, but she still wants honesty. This moon reminds you that boundaries can be beautiful, kind, and still very much non-negotiable.

And this is something I often tell my clients when they’re struggling with self-love, self-worth, and boundaries: how can other people love you well if you don’t give them the chance to do so? If you don’t communicate your boundaries, how will people know you? How will they know what feels right around you?
And then comes the really uncomfortable part: you end up resenting people for overstepping boundaries you never clearly expressed in the first place. Ouch. I know. But that one’s important.

People-pleasing fatigue: This one flows directly from the boundaries theme. If you’re tired of being agreeable, pleasant, easygoing, and emotionally available for everyone while secretly wanting to disappear into a blanket burrito… noted. This moon sees it too.

Softness with a spine: That’s the real magic here. Learning that you do not have to choose between being loving and being honest. You can be both.

Anyways, if you’ve been feeling emotionally stretched, more aware of imbalance, or unusually done with your own excuses lately, this moon might already be working on you. And she’s doing it for you: to bring you back into right relationship with yourself.

Honestly, very kind of her.

Your body’s whisper (or scream)

And because the body always knows before the mind finishes negotiating, this moon may also show up in more physical ways. Libra is linked to the lower back, kidneys, and skin, so don’t be surprised if those areas ask for a little extra attention right now. Tightness in the lower back. Feeling dehydrated or drained. Skin acting up when your stress has been simmering just under the surface. Subtle, but telling.

This moon is extra charged because it is not just asking where things look balanced, but whether they actually feel balanced in your system. So if your body has been whispering for rest, softness, water, spaciousness, or one good stretch before it starts screaming… I’d listen.

That is very much part of the medicine too.
From a more Traditional Chinese Medicine kind of lens, this is not the moment to keep running on iced coffee, adrenaline, and pure delusion. Try out warmth, simple nourishment, and supporting your system before it starts yelling. Warm meals instead of skipping food or living off snacks. Enough water, but also enough rest to actually absorb life. A hot water bottle on the lower back. Gentle stretching. Earlier nights. Slower mornings. Less pushing, more listening. Revolutionary, I know…

Rituals for that moon energy

Light a candle if you like, make some tea, a snack and set the scene for yourself if you like. Sit down with your journal. And pick the habit, pattern, or coping mechanism you already know has a grip on you. The thing you keep calling “just how I am,” “my way of relaxing,” “not that bad,” or “I’ll deal with it later.”

At the top of the page, write: The habit I need to be honest about is…

Then answer these questions without trying to sound wise, spiritual, or self-aware. Honest is better than impressive. I don’t want you to repeat words of any type of therapist you’ve seen. They need to be your own unfiltered thoughts.

  1. What do I get out of this habit?

  2. What feeling am I trying not to feel when I do this?

  3. What am I avoiding having to face, choose, or change?

  4. What story do I keep telling myself to make this okay?

  5. Where am I sabotaging myself and pretending I’m not?

  6. What is this costing me really?

  7. Who do I become if I can no longer hide behind this?

Then finish these three sentences:

The truth I keep avoiding is…
The part of me that is scared says…
But the part of me that knows better says…

If I fully respected myself, my next choice would be…

That’s your ritual

The shadow is not dramatic or mysterious, sometimes it is just the pile of excuses, coping mechanisms, comforts, and familiar patterns you keep protecting because they save you from having to feel the deeper truth. And this Libra Full Moon? She is very good at showing you where you have been lying to yourself in a voice so pretty you almost miss that your entire defense system is being dismantled.

That’s where your power comes back. The moment you stop asking, “Why am I like this?” and start asking, “What am I protecting, and is it still worth the price?

What to focus on during yoga?

If you’re moving with this moon, let the focus be on balance that feels true, not just balance that looks pretty. So many students push their bodies to match the polished pose they saw on Instagram or the way their bendy neighbour seems to float into it without effort. But every body has its own range, rhythm, and way of moving. This moon is a beautiful invitation to explore the relationship between softness and strength, effort and ease, giving and receiving. Notice where you push, where you collapse, where you perform, and where your body is quietly asking for a clearer boundary. Can you allow yourself to look different from the people around you, or from the image you had in your head, so the practice actually supports and nourishes your body and mind instead of creating more imbalance or injury? This can become a practice in self-honesty and choosing what truly supports you.

Extra suggestions for the lovely yoga teacher reader

This moon offers a beautiful theme to guide people back to their own inner balance, with an emphasis on mindful transitions, heart and hip opening, gentle back care, and the question: can you stay kind with yourself while actually listening to your body’s boundaries? Can they let go of the perfect image of the poses in their minds and actually feel?
Chakra-wise, this moon speaks most strongly to the heart chakra, with a very important side note from the throat. Libra wants love, harmony, and connection, yes, but this Full Moon is also asking for honesty, boundaries, and the courage to actually say what is true.

Reflective journal prompts

  1. Where in my life have I been calling something “balance” when it is actually self-abandonment?

  2. What truth have I been softening, delaying, decorating, or avoiding because I’m afraid of the discomfort it might bring?

  3. Where am I over-giving in the hope of being chosen, understood, loved, or kept?

  4. What am I afraid will happen if I stop being the easy one?

  5. If I could no longer lie to myself about what is out of balance, what would I have to do next?

Virgo’s parting words would be…

Knock knock.
Who’s there?
A boundary.
A boundary who?
No no, nice try… this time, you’re not abandoning yourself to keep the peace.

Let this Pink Moon in Libra be your reminder that balance is not found in being endlessly accommodating, endlessly available, or endlessly understanding while quietly disappearing in the process. Real harmony asks for your presence, too. Your truth, too. Your needs, too. By keeping boundaries, we show love for ourselves, but we give others a manual on how to love us, too! It’s a gift.

So if something in you has been asking for a reset, a boundary, a truth, a softer pace, or a braver choice… listen. This moon is asking you to become clearer. And in that clarity, something beautiful happens: you stop betraying yourself just to keep the peace, and start building a life that actually feels like home.

That, darling, is the real magic. Can you imagine how that will look like for you?

With love & balance,
