Harvest Moon in Aries 2026
The Universe: "Enough overthinking. Go do the thing."
Me: Okay, let me overthink the worst possible outcomes once more, just to be safe
The Universe: ….
On Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 18:49 in the evening (Netherlands time), the Moon turns full in fiery, headstrong, utterly uncompromising Aries, and she is not interested in your safety plan. She's interested in whether you're finally going to move.
Writing this blog for you live from Korea with a slightly jet-lagged body, but with a belly full of my favourite Korean chicken soup (닭죽 ) while still digesting the very late-night Korean BBQ from last night. Life is good, haha.
I’ve been quite quiet on Instagram since the last full moon, and there's a very simple reason for that: I've barely been home. I had some nice trips planned after all the hard work this year, so there is a slight hiatus for September and October, but rest assured, there are some beautiful events in the works that I am genuinely excited to tell you about soon! More on that once I'm back on Dutch soil.
For now, welcome to the Harvest Moon in Aries!
Why do we call it a Harvest Moon?
Every full moon has a nickname, usually borrowed from what was happening on the land the month it appeared. But the Harvest Moon is a little different from the rest, because it isn't tied to a calendar month at all. It's tied to a season. The Harvest Moon is simply whichever full moon falls closest to the autumn equinox, which this year landed on September 23. Three days later, this full moon follows, which makes September 26, 2026 officially the Harvest Moon.
The name comes from farmers who, before electricity, relied on the unusually bright, early-rising moonlight around this time of year to keep working the fields after sunset, bringing in the last of the crops before the frost arrived. Extra light meant some extra hours, and provided them with the option for one final push to gather what the season had grown.
I love that this year it lands in Aries, of all signs. Let’s say, Aries doesn't tiptoe into anything; she just goes. If you were hoping for a gentle, contemplative harvest, think again; this is a moon asking you to gather your courage before doubt sets in, and to do it now, not once you feel ready. What is the thing you know you need to do, but you keep waiting for the right moment for? Let this be the sign you asked for.
My dear Aries people
Let me further introduce you to Aries, and lucky me, I happen to live with one. My boyfriend is a full-blown, textbook Aries, and I can tell you from very lived experience: loving one is like being strapped into a rollercoaster with no brakes, and somehow still wanting the ride. One moment it's "let's buy a house in the Netherlands," the next it's "actually, what if I studied a master's," and by dinner it's "or we just move to another country?" all in the same 24 hours. If you decide to tag along with an Aries, love, two seatbelts are strongly advised. It is never, ever a boring moment. But, saying this with my butt in Seoul, I wouldn’t want it any other way.
Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, like a cosmic newborn. Ruled by Mars, the planet of action, drive, and yes, a bit of a temper, Aries doesn't overthink. She does. She is the spark before the flame, the "yes" before the plan, the person who starts the workout, the business, the difficult conversation, simply because waiting for the perfect moment felt like wasting time she didn't have. She is restless and ready for chaos. The life of the party with endless energy and opinions.
But there is much more to Aries than that: her real superpower only shows up once she's actually aligned with her own fire. Once she locks onto something she genuinely wants and is meant for her. That's when the magic happens. I watch it unfold in my own Aries man on what feels like a weekly basis: the sheer will, the stamina, the refusal to accept an obstacle as the final answer. Watching someone chase what they want with that much conviction is, honestly, one of the most motivating things to witness up close. (Also, someone please explain to me why every Aries I have ever met turns even a casual board game into an Olympic final and signs up to 3 different sports competitions on a Tuesday night. What IS that?)
Her shadow is just as fiery, though. Impatience. A tendency to act first and feel the consequences later. A quickness to anger that can look like strength but is sometimes just unprocessed frustration with nowhere else to go. When the fire is not well maintained or fed, it turns into destruction. Control it too tightly? It dies. Let it run to losely? It burns everything, even people or things that matter to them. Not letting the fire move out or through the body? It becomes internal poison. and your next allergy flare.
All and all, I can say it’s an energy that makes this Taurus slightly anxious half of the time, but at least it makes sure I don’t even have a chance to get stuck in that notorious comfort zone ;)
Anyway, that restless, all-or-nothing fire, love, is exactly what this Full Moon is here to illuminate. Yes, non-aries, for you too!
What you might experience during this Aries Full Moon
Full moons are points of climax: the moment the Sun and Moon face each other in perfect opposition, and whatever's been growing quietly becomes impossible to ignore. This time, while the Moon sits in fast, fiery Aries, the Sun holds steady in Libra, and yes, you'll likely feel that tug-of-war in the air: a pull between doing your own thing and keeping the peace with the people around you. It's real. But it is not the whole story of this moon, so don't let it be the only lens you look through, love.
Because underneath that, this is a genuinely loaded sky. Several planets are currently gathered in Aries alongside the Moon, and more than one of them is moving in retrograde, which basically means old, unfinished material is being revisited rather than freshly created. In everyday human terms, that can feel like: emotions that hit harder than the situation seems to warrant, a shorter fuse than usual, old frustrations or memories resurfacing almost demanding to be dealt with, and a jittery, can't-sit-still energy that wants to move now, not later. There's also a genuine "closing of a chapter" quality to this one since Chiron, the wounded healer, just shifted back into Aries after a long stretch away, which tends to bring old wounds around courage and self-worth up for one final look before they can actually heal.
Translation: this is not really a "light a candle and journal quietly" kind of moon. This is a "notice what's making you twitchy, and finally do something about it" kind of moon.
This Full Moon can highlight themes around:
Restlessness with a message. That antsy, can't-focus, need-to-move feeling isn't random. It's usually pointing at something you've been sitting on for far too long: a decision, a conversation, a leap.
A shorter fuse than usual. Little things suddenly feel unbearable: the slow driver, the unanswered message, the friend who's "still thinking about it." Before you snap at the nearest innocent bystander, ask yourself what you're actually frustrated about. People are afraid of their own anger and frustration and do whatever it takes to hold it in, but my dear, anger is the catalyst for change. And your frustrations and irritation can provide you with clues on where that change needs to happen if you take the chance to feel it and listen to it. It holds your deepest wishes, which can work like magic if they are able to flow freely again.
Sudden, undeniable clarity. Aries moons have a way of cutting straight through months of overthinking in one blunt, unmissable moment of "why am I even still putting up with this?"
Old wounds asking for one last look. With Chiron freshly back in this sign, don't be surprised if an old insecurity about being "too much" or "not enough" resurfaces. There is no punishment in this; it's there so you can finally close the loop.
The self-versus-others tug. Yes, the Libra Sun will keep whispering about compromise and keeping everyone comfortable. This moon isn't asking you to become inconsiderate, just to notice the moments you go quiet purely to avoid a bit of friction, and to ask yourself if that trade is actually worth it.
Which one stands out for you the most?
Your body's whisper
Aries governs the head, face, eyes, and blood, the body's most literal seat of "me first." When this sign lights up, tension tends to gather right between your eyebrows, along your jaw, at the base of your skull. Headaches, a racing pulse, a face that feels flushed or tight for no obvious reason which is often where Aries energy that hasn't found an outlet gets stuck. Soo.. Headaches anyone?
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, Aries' fiery, forward-charging, quick-to-anger nature maps closely onto the Wood element, governed by the Liver and Gallbladder. Wood energy wants to move, plan, assert, grow, much like Mars-ruled Aries. When that energy gets blocked instead of expressed, TCM says it shows up as exactly the symptoms Aries tends to complain about: headaches, tension around the eyes and temples, irritability, a short fuse. The liver, in this framework, is the seat of unexpressed anger.
For some of you, that same trapped fire won't stop at a headache or pressure around the eyes, it'll show up on your skin. A sudden breakout, an unexplained rash, an eczema flare that seems to come out of nowhere. In Chinese medicine, when Liver-fire has nowhere else to go, it often rises up and out through the skin. Annoying, yes. But also, in its own dramatic Aries way, kind of an on-the-nose message: something in here wants to move.
Where in my body am I holding a fight I never actually had? And what would it feel like to let that fire move all the way through instead of clenching around it?
An Aries Full Moon ritual
This moon is powerful for releasing whatever's been quietly draining your courage, and for finally taking one concrete, unglamorous step toward the thing you keep postponing. We are going back to the simple basics with this one. And it’s something you can do entirely on your own tonight, with things you already have lying around the house.
The Fire Release Ritual
You'll need: a candle, a small fireproof bowl or dish, a pen, and a piece of paper.
Light the candle and take a few breaths, until your shoulders actually drop away from your ears.
On the paper, write down whatever's been quietly draining your courage: an old fear, a "should," an old identity, a decision you keep postponing. Do it without overthinking.
Read it once, out loud, to yourself.
Carefully burn the paper in your fireproof bowl and watch it go. Let the smoke carry it out.
Finish by naming one small, brave action you will take in the next 48 hours. Nothing dramatic, just something that scares you a little. Send the message. Book the thing. Say the true thing out loud. Then actually go and do it.
Bonus: for when the brave thing is a conversation
If your "one brave action" involves actually saying something to someone (the thing you've been swallowing, the request you keep not making). Use the DESC method to get it out clean and direct:
D - Describe. State the facts, no drama. "I notice that..."
E - Emotions. Name what it brings up for you. "This makes me feel..."
S - Solution. Say what you'd actually like instead. "I'd like it if..."
C - Consequence. Name the positive result of that change, then check in. "That would mean..." - "Does that work for you?"
Just these four lines can make a big difference to you and the person listening to it. It keeps the energy and truth by yourself, while communicating your needs respectfully. Very Aries energy of you.
What to focus on during yoga?
On the mat this week, the invitation isn't to perform strength (Aries has plenty of that already), but to practice presence with the fire instead of being run by it. We'll work with the head, the jaw, the eyes, and the blood flow that Aries governs, while also giving that Mars-ruled urgency somewhere honest to go..
Five poses to explore:
1. Warrior I (Virabhadrasana I). Ground deeply through the back foot, lift through the chest, and let your arms reach skyward. This is Aries' signature pose: pure, forward-facing intention.
2. Camel Pose (Ustrasana). A deep backbend that opens the heart and throat. It might feel like vulnerable territory for a sign that would rather charge forward than expose its chest. So just go slowly, support your lower back with your hands if needed, and notice the impulse to protect yourself here. This pose asks you to stay open even while exposed, which is precisely the courage Chiron is asking of you right now.
3. Downward-Facing Dog (Adho Mukha Svanasana). A gentle inversion that draws fresh blood toward the head and face while lengthening the spine and releasing tension in the neck and jaw. Maybe pedal the feet, soften the head between the arms, and let this be a literal flushing-out of the mental heat that's been building.
4. Child's Pose (Balasana), forehead grounded. The counterbalance Aries almost never chooses voluntarily: stillness, surrender, the forehead resting on the earth. This pose calms the very headspace that governs this sign, cooling the fire rather than feeding it. Stay here longer than feels natural. Let it teach you that rest is not the opposite of courage.
5. Eagle Pose (Garudasana). Wrap one arm under the other, cross one leg tightly over the other, and narrow your gaze to a single point in front of you. This pose asks Aries' famously sprawling, scattershot fire to gather into one place instead of firing off in five directions at once. Notice how much focus it takes just to stay wrapped up and balanced. Observe your inner reaction to this pose of containment.
Reflective journal prompts
What's the one thing I've been "meaning to get to" for months that this restless energy is finally demanding I act on?
What began (quietly or boldly) around mid-April that's ripe enough now to fully claim and harvest?
Where has a flash of irritation or frustration lately actually been pointing at something bigger I've been ignoring?
If I stopped waiting to feel "ready enough" or "brave enough," what would I do differently this week?
What old insecurity about being "too much" or "not enough" is this moon finally asking me to put down?
Aries’ parting words would be…
You keep asking if it's okay to want what you want. I'm telling you: stop asking. The fire in you isn't a problem to manage or push down! It's the thing that gets you out of bed, out of the wrong relationship, out of the life that was too small for you. Choosing yourself isn't the selfish plot twist you've been warned about. It's the whole point. It’s the thing that leads you to be the person you were meant to be so you can touch the lives of the people you were meant to touch.
"You don't need permission to take up space. You were born taking up space. Everyone else just got used to you apologizing for it."
I'll be honest, love, I've had my own Aries moments this year, moments where I chose the uncomfortable, unpopular, entirely-mine decision over the easy, everyone-stays-happy one. It didn't feel graceful, but it felt like mine, and that turned out to matter more than the discomfort. This moon is asking the same of you. Trust the fire. It knows where it's going, even when you don't yet.
You are allowed to want, without earning it first. You are allowed to take up the space your fire needs. The frost is coming, so gather what is yours. Not gently. Not quietly. Fully.
And with that being said, let me gather my courage to get ready to face my Korean family-in-law to celebrate Chuseok!
Happy Harvest Moon in Aries! 🔥🌕
With love & courage
