May 12th, Flower Moon in Scorpio - A call to break free, burn old paths & rise

Get ready. This one is deep, and it might be my longest blog yet. The Full Moon in Scorpio on May 12, 2025, is no soft whisper of moonlight and fairy dust, but rather a fierce inner summoning, a cosmic detox, a purge of anything (and anyone) that clings to old versions of you. And with rebellious Uranus throwing sparks from across the sky, don’t be surprised if your soul suddenly screams: "Enough."

Welcome to the Flower Moon! A time where nature blooms, but your inner world just might explode. … Okay, sorry I might have gone a little hard on the scary doom vibes. Let’s see if it is really all that bad, shall we?

Why do we call it a Flower Moon?

It’s a pretty cute name, right? The May Full Moon is traditionally called the Flower Moon, marking the peak of spring’s blossoming energy, with flowers blooming all around. But this one? She might be blooming black roses.

Yes, everything is growing, especially your awareness of what no longer fits. And just like flowers that bloom eventually compost back to nurture the soil, this Full Moon wants you to shed. transform. rebirth.

Themes of this full moon

Emotional detox & Shadow work

Scorpio, a water sign ruled by Pluto, rules over what’s hidden: buried pain, unresolved wounds, repressed desires, deep emotions. Don’t be shocked if tears, anger, fatigue, or even headaches show up this week. Knock-knock, it’s your subconscious purging, and your body knows it.

Be ready for some: Emotional flare-ups, sleepless nights, old grief, jealousy, or fears bubbling up

You might catch yourself thinking: “Wasn’t I already over this?”. This is Scorpio doing what it does best: turning poison into power. Scorpio’s here like: “Oh honey, you wanted growth? Cool. Let’s dig up your deepest fear at 3AM and alchemize it into gold.” You in?

Rebellion & Breaking free

Thanks to Uranus opposite the Moon, your inner rebel is wide awake. Suddenly, you want OUT. Out of jobs that drain you, relationships that box you in, or expectations that never fit in the first place.

You may:

  • Feel urges to make impulsive changes

  • Pull back from people who feel heavy (good riddance)

  • Burn bridges you thought you’d never cross

Is it scary? Yes.
Is it overdue? .. Also, yes.

If you've been clinging to someone who's clearly not your person, this Moon will kindly YEET them out of your orbit.

Relational pressure & twin flame triggers

Juno (the asteroid of soul bonds) is sitting right next to this Moon. That means relationships (especially deep, karmic, or "twin flame" types) might feel tense, obsessive, or confusing. You might cling too tight. Or run too fast. There’s pain surfacing here for a reason, girliess.. it’s time to process what's still unhealed and reclaim your emotional sovereignty.

A push toward your soul mission

Saturn and the North Node are backing this Moon with quiet strength. They’re whispering: "Take distance. Focus. Trust the long game."
If things fall apart this week, they’re making space.

Space for you to:

  • Realign with your purpose

  • Create plans that actually feel like you

  • Say no to what’s been draining your power

This Moon is not here for your people-pleasing tendencies. She's here to drag them to the underworld and leave you reborn. You are being encouraged to introspect, urging you to delve into your inner world, confront fears, and emerge with a renewed sense of self and purpose. But hey, no pressure there..

Physical symptoms you might notice

  • Fatigue or insomnia

  • Headaches

  • Lower belly tension or digestive upset

  • Mood swings or emotional flooding

Care tip: Don’t force productivity. Hydrate. Cry. Breathe. Repeat.
Bonus points if you light a candle, wrap yourself in a blanket, and dramatically declare: “It is done.”

Rituals for that moon energy

Scorpio is known to be a bit emotional at times, yet they’re ritualistic. Honor this moon with tools that help you release the mud:

  1. Water release ritual: Run a bath (or foot soak) with sea salt, rosemary, or lavender. Visualize old emotions being pulled out of your body and rinsed down the drain.

  2. Journaling unfiltered: Ask the tough questions (see prompts below). Don’t write just to make a story for yourself. Don’t spiritualize. Just get honest and deep. You’ll be surprised what clarity shows up.

  3. Boundaries + Cord-Cutting meditation: You guys liked this one last time, so I’m bringing it back once more!
If someone’s energy still clings to you (an ex, a friend, a colleague, whoever), this is the night to release them. You can follow one of the many powerful cord-cutting meditations online, or keep it simple and do it your way.
    Here’s how:
Sit down, close your eyes, and visualize all the energetic cords connecting you to different people in your life. One by one, observe the cord. Now feel into your body: Is this connection still serving me?
If the answer is no, grab your imaginary scissors (or axe, sword, chainsaw, whatever floats your magical boat) and cut it.
Then, speak it into existence: “I release this bond. I call my energy back to me.”
    Let it go.
You might be shocked at the clarity this gives you on where you leak your energy, what you’ve been holding onto, and what you’re finally ready to walk away from.

“What is mine returns to me. What is not, I now release.”

  4. Sacred silence: Say no to the group chat. Say yes to your bathtub, candlelight, and a playlist that screams: “I’m not (that) emotionally unstable, I’m just spiritually evolving.”

I dare you.. sit with your feelings for an hour, NO distractions!

Reflective journal prompts

  1. What am I still trying to control and what would happen if I just stopped?

  2. What am I ashamed of that actually needs to be seen and healed?

  3. If I could finally say the thing I’ve never dared to say, what would it be?

  4. What grief have I never fully processed and how is it still shaping me?

  5. What belief needs to die so something new in me can live?

What to focus on during yoga?

"Shadow & surrender"

Scorpio governs the reproductive and eliminative organs. It’s all about letting go of what the body (and soul) no longer needs.
Your practice should reflect that: slow, deep, grounding. Not to escape discomfort, but to make space for it.

Here are 5 supportive poses:

  1. Malasana (Yogi Squat): Deep pelvic opening, grounding into your root.

  2. Baddha Konasana (Butterfly Pose): Gentle hip opening, emotional softening.

  3. Apanasana (Knees to Chest): Encourages digestion, releases both physical and emotional.

  4. Seated Twist: Detoxes inner organs and stuck emotions.

  5. Savasana with Hand on Womb: Tune into what your body is ready to shed.

Bonus theme: "I release control. I honor the mystery. I trust the unraveling. I surrender to the flow".

For my fellow yoga teachers:
During the peak of your sequence, consider pausing the flow. Bring your students to stillness and invite them to check in with the energy moving through their bodies. Let them check in on what they need (even if that means going into child's pose for the remainder of the class). Guide them gently with breath and awareness. Hold space, not to fix or explain, but simply to let whatever must be felt, be felt. Then see what shift they need or want to make in their body, mind, emotion, energy and/or spirit to continue the flow.

You might even offer one of the journal prompts as a moment of inner inquiry during this pause in stillness or use it during Savasana. Sometimes, one honest question lands deeper than a hundred perfect poses.

Scorpio’s parting words would be…

Is this a scary Full Moon? It doesn't have to be. It is definitely not about manifestation, but let yourself surrender to whatever submerges. This is the moment you stop pretending that your old life fits and finally admit: you’ve outgrown it. You might not know what the new one looks like yet. That’s okay. You’ll be okay.

Just start by turning inward, and letting go of what was never meant to last.

Let the breakdown become your breakthrough.
Let the shadow lead you home.
And most of all, trust what’s rising. Remember, transformation isn't always comfortable, but it's through these periods of intensity that we find our strength and clarity. Embrace the journey, and trust in the process of becoming. You are more capable than you think. Life won’t throw you curveballs if she didn’t think you could handle it.

This time I want to close off by saying, I’m proud of you. I’m so proud of you for doing the work. If you feel like you are stuck in the mud, make a nourishing face mask out of it girly, because you are going to glow!

Here for you always,

With love & encouragement,
